Eileen Myles, Poet

"Queer Genius" highlights interviews and documentation with Myles from their NYC apartment to their home in Marfa, TX. The film follows Myles through the re-release of their novel "Chelsea Girls" and poetry collection "I Must Be Living Twice." Myles refelcts on their life and work including their recent experiences with national television exposure on the award-winning show "Transparent" and their burgeoning international recognition.

Eileen Myles is the author of nineteen books including I Must Be Living Twice: New & Selected Poems, and a 2015 reissue of Chelsea Girls. Eileen is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in non-fiction, an Andy Warhol/Creative Capital Arts Writers grant, four Lambda Book Awards, and the Shelley Prize from the PSA. In 2016 Myles received a Creative Capital grant and the Clark Prize for excellence in art writing.
